I don't know if you follow Smogon or competitive, but it was ban to Ubers as it had almost no counter, it could learn a variety of moves, one just to stop it's weakness and it was a special attacker, and there were not alot of pokemon with big special defense and those who did only live after two to three hits. It fucking wreck people, that is why it is called the Brutal pokemon, only a legendary could have calm it down. Heck it's in UU now despite it's glaring weakness to fairy, you would believe that it would have falling down to NU or PU but nope, it's stubborn as shit.
