Why the heck does using a metal coat on this thing increase its BST by 125 points, but if Scyther uses one it becomes the only pokemon in the entire damn series not to increase it's BST upon evolution. Explain this to me vp

Onix's speed is pretty crazy but I guess it was a fully evolved mon at one point.

I'm not saying scyther should have gotten 125, clearly onix needed something given he was an early game boss from red/green so they gave him shitty stats, but it's just weird that Scyther gains not one point by evolving

it's actually ind of fast as far as rock types are concerned. How about:
HP 75
Atk 75
Def 170
Satk 45
Sdef 55
Spd 90
