You're right, but reminder that technically, they only said that 1) Gen 8's premier titles are being developed independently of LGPE, and 2) That they're more in line with XY and SM; All that just means that they still wouldn't be lying if the first two games of Gen 8 were 3DS era-tier trash, and then the ULTRA CHANGES sequel versions included LGPE changes.
