>>36505499Anybody who paid any attention to these games would have already known you can't evolve the starter Pikachu and Eevee. Eevee is getting its Gen I Eeveelution's types as coverage moves to compensate for this. Pikachu is getting a surf variant to compensate for lack of surfing Pikachu.
>>36505519The Japanese versions of these Pokemon's moves are meant to have cute, child-like onomatopoeia plus a very simplistic English word for the young audience. Pikachu and Eevee appeal to children after all. This is just The Pokemon Company International's way of translating this into English, hence the alliteration and onomatopoeia (buzz being akin to something shocking, sizzle being akin to something burning, and splish being akin to movement of water).
>>36508364Meramera is a Japanese onomatopoeia for something that is burning, akin to what we call sizzle sizzle or crackle crackle.
Pikachu's water equivalent, Zabuzabu Surf, is zabuzabu (onomatopoeia for handwashing, such as splish splash).
The other moves revealed today likely have the same convention (Japanese onomatopoeia spelled out twice) + (simplistic sounding english name).
"Flare Burn" was a shitty translation; don't use it again.
