Do we really need? Aren't we getting to a fucking limit? There are enough Pokemon out there as things are right now, no need to add another hundred for them to design, model, animate and then people coming back to use Landorus + 5 of the same shite all over again.

I truly believe they should stop adding more Pokemon and should focus instead on this alolan form concept.

Why is 1000 so unreasonable? It’s jist a number, plus the dex is split into regional and national so there isn’t always ‘ever pokemon’. The option (key word “option”) to get the full dex.

Adding new creatures gives players a chance to experience something new and exciting and allows them a chance to find a new favorite. Plus there’s more chances for new moves, abilities and strategies. On top of all that if gives pokemon and GF more opportunities to market the things.

So in summary, fuck you, if you cant handle 1000 or more pokemon that’s your problem. Boo boo.

I don't know where this 'limit' shit has come from but as long as Pokemon make money, they will keep making new pokemon, new pokemon at the selling points in new games, look at LGPE, they have to add in a new pokemon to try and push some more sales, there's absolutely NO REASON for them not to go past 1000+Pokemon either.
It actually pisses me off when idiots complain about there being too many pokemon, so what? No one is making you use every single one of them, no one is making you remember all of them, are you not tired of seeing the same goddamn pokemon in every game? I know I'm sick of seeing most dex be Gen 1 Pokemon, so the more Pokemon there are, it means more variety in future games.

To GameFreak, it's not just a number, it's a momentous occasion because it means they've finally created one thousand species of Pokemon. That's a big fucking deal for a franchise that's tried its hardest (until recently, anyway) to make sure all of those species are unique in terms of design (I said unique, not good, opinions are subjective anyway) and can't easily be mistaken or confused for another species unless they're directly related.
I'd like to think they're trying to line things up so we hit #1000 during Gen 10, and #1000 is some extremely special Mythical that's Arceus-tier in terms of Lore Importance to amplify the sheer significance of such an occasion.

Gen 7 did just as well as any have.

Recently went through them all because of a thread here and each gen, at least in my opinion, was about consistent.

I thought maybe it was true that it was quality over quantity as of late without having given it much thought considering how many I did really like in recent Gens, but it really destroyed the argument people have made about it being quality instead of quantity when I actually broke it down and the numbers were consistently within a small range.

There are scientific studies on facts less consistent in comparison to the breakdown of my opinions on them.
