My question is, can you really boost all your pokemon's stats by 200 with candies. If not how much can you boost them by.

I doubt it. I'm gonna wait til the games come out and bulbapedia or serebii confirm it. I can believe you can boost your stats by 200 total. But not 200 for every stat giving you an extra 1200 points.

Joe doesn't know he only played for 2 hours and didn't get any candies. And Kaphotics didn't actually play the game to learn of the 200 extra every stat, he just read that code and assumed. I'll only believe it when I see video of every stat being +200 from candies.

Nah, I'm finding it annoying after the first few times cause I wanna relax and multitask when I'm playing this game. They've even got non-motion control when you're in portable mode so I don't understand why they couldn't give the option and just use the control stick to move the camera.

The gift pokemon require the trainer to catch a certain amount of pokemon. What was weird was the anon on stream had 50 pokemon but couldnt have charmander so the assumption is instead of your pokedex being 50 you instead have to physically catch 50 pokemon

Another Anon explained it better than me in another thread. i thought the exact same thing. "If everyhting gets +200 its fine right?"

But since HP exists and can be maxed out, and since candy makes it so that every stat can be maxed out without giving up anything, you basically get mons whose defensive capabilities get scaled up TWICE as fast as their offensive ones, while moves remain on similar level of base power (except solar beam and sky attack that got buffed), and thus everything ends insanely bulky. LPGE is a meta where chansey from full HP is not gusranteed to die to a machamp's superpower in a single hit. It is a slow clusterfuck where battles can take from 60 to 100 turns on average. I tried it yesterday on that showdown server they have for it and I got bored after 3 battles that took around 75 turns each.

You better hope this shit wont come to Gen 8.
Especially of items return.
Chansey would be unkillable with this and eviolite.

How differently do ride pokemon control from walking? Do they move at different speeds or turn differently at all?

In the original there were two or three gyms you could do out of order. I assume they’ve prevented that this time, but how? What new obstacles did they add?

It's a japanese arcade now, and you can't do anything in it. Would have been the perfect time to port some Pokemon Stadium minigames, but Game Freak knows people will pay anyway. TMs have been put in different locations, and Porygon is a gift after beating Silph Co.

What the fuck are you talking about, the Pokemon spawn in the overworld randomly instead of in the grass. Also your entire party gets EXP for catching Pokemon so of course you can level them up, literally like in any other Pokemon game. And then theres the Elite 4 for EXP too.

You get one from a Silph Co. Employee, probably after you drive out Team Rocket.
Which essentially means you now not only get Lapras and the Master Ball but also Porygon all in the same area.

No, there are only 5 battle themes, Wild Pkmn, Trainer battle, Gym/E4 battle and Champion. Red, Blue and Green all use either the generic trainer battle or the gym battle theme.

Not quite. I'd say around or slightly more than BW levels of interruptions. Basically any time there was optional dialogue that would explain stuff in RBY, now has a cutscene and often your rival or someone else running in to have more of a conversation. Any time their was dialogue before is now extended a bit. They did nothing to improve this dialogue despite extending it so much, it is a very dry game. That is on top of the general needing to explain to the player how to wipe their arse and not let them figure anything out.

It isn't too bad for the just walking down a path leads to a cutscene stuff, it does happen though.

I should probably add there are also new dialogue added in as well. Like at Pokémon Tower there is this whole bit about your new rival's cubone being the baby of the dead one. Instead of just walk through the tower you now get 2 or 3 scenes building that up, the last being them meeting and the ghost just disappearing

In past games you can at least intentionally gimp yourself by either purposely underleveling or doing a Nuzelocke, neither of these are possible in LGPE because of the gym requirements forcing you to be over leveled or making you catch 70 Pokemon.
And Pokemon was always "easy" but LGPE's difficulty is so low that it's actually harder to lose than it is to win with zero effort.

Is there any way to get the Mew as a certain nature without having to reset? It seems like you have to basically choose between a good nature for the starter or a good nature for the mew (because it saves immediately after obtaining it).

Another thing is that defence gives you more damage reduction per point the less you have as the formula divides damage by defence (and multiplies it by attack).

For example, max IV no EV/candy onix has 356 defence, adding 200 increases it by around 55%, lowering the physical damage onix takes by about 35.5%. Chansey starts at 46 defence so adding 200 multiplies it by over 5, reducing physical damage chansey takes by around 81.5%.

This is why you ALWAYS max chansey's defence, even going up to 109 defence in gen 7 is huge damage reduction, with candy you have over twice that easilly outstripping the boost you'd normally get from eviolite.

And all of this assumes neutral nature...
