What is happening to Masuda?

As time goes by he seems to have his thoughts on pokémon and the franchise more and more distorted. Between his unhealthy obsession with mobile games, his insisting that the people who play pokémon have the intelligence of literal retard children, his saying that good graphics scare parents, etc. I have to think he's mentally unraveled.
