You know what? I really wish there was more room for monsteresque pokemon in newer generations. What I mean is beast-like pokemon(no object/plant/mineral) that are very much their own thing rather than a cartoon version of a single animal + elemental type. Obviously the monstermons still take cues from animals but with subtlety and mix and matching they elevate themselves beyond being just pokemon versions of a real life animal equivalent.

This is not a genwar thread. There's a fair share of cartoon animals in gen1 (rattata anyone?) and some unique beasts in later gens, I just wish there was more of it.
