You mean Sinnoh fans, they go full turbo autism when anyone criticizes their gen. I can kind of understand when Unova fans get frustrated because some months ago it was an endless stream of hate for no reason, so it was right of them to defend themselves, but at least they did so with class. Sinnoh fans on the other hand start screeching and never try to counter the arguments for why gen 4 is bad, they just get all pissy and "B-but muh Cynthia!".

Genwunners hated gens 3 and 4 because there wasn't any focus on Kanto mons, instead choosing to focus mostly on new mons. Because of that, people who grew up with gens 1 and 2 felt like the series was moving forward without them. A lot of them hated the idea of having to learn the new mons, and their types and attacks. Basically, the series changed too much for them. Or they simply felt like they outgrew it over time, but still like the old games of some childhood nostalgia.

All of them look obese overdesigned versions of their previous form like Rhyperior, Magmortar and Electivire

Comparatively noone really chimped ot at Gen 2’s crossgen evos because they didn’t drop the ball with them by giving them Sinnohbesity syndrome.

Gens 4 and 5 were the ones that gave the least amount of fucks about Knato pandering. Sinnoh was filled with Johto references and when Gen 5 decided to throwback to older stuff in BW2 it was an equal mix of attention to all gens.
