I have fond memories of battling Lenora- thought she would be a cakewalk and went in underleveled. Ass handed to me, I went to grind some and ended up catching one of my favorite mons in Gen V, Sawk.

Also dig seeing gym leader's lives outside of the gym and she got a lot of focus in game and in the anime.

I don't have a favorite but this got me thinking.

Rock is the first gym in three generations, and the second gym in one generation. I'd like to see a rock gym that was the seventh or eighth. We also need a dark gym.

Fuck trial captains.

Still bothers me that we haven't had a dark type gym. Nanu was at least proof that you can have a "leader" of sorts that is a dark trainer but without the evil connotations that seem to have held GameFreak back from the idea in the past.

Gen VI really didn't have many memorable leaders. Half of them I forget regularly, like Olympia and Ramon.

I am less likely to appreciate newer gym leaders since they almost always reuse types. Mina has a better personality than Valerie does, while Janine is cool for wanting to surpass her dad.
