>>38118852Personal blog time, I promise it'll come full circle to your request; I went with the major I did (computer science) because it was something I could do without too much effort and then not have to worry about having difficulty finding a job. I won't say I regret that decision, but I did realize once it was all said and done that I dont have any passion for any work I could get using that degree. So now I'm in an IT job that pays the bills while I work towards moving in a direction I'm more passionate about and will find more fulfilling.
I'm going to assume that you're still fairly young, and so once you've finished your degree and find work in your field, even if you find that you're not in love with the work, you can forge a new path. It won't be easy if that is the case, and there'll be a lot more to consider than before, but it's not the end of the world. Believe me, I felt trapped for a while, but eventually opportunities to take charge present themselves.
Do your best where you are now, and know that no matter what adversity you face and how daunting a situation may seem, you never lack the power to change the situation for the better.
