Kalos was pretty hit or miss. I do hear from a lot of people that it was sort of a second wave of pokemon for them, so it probably caused a lot of new blood to enter the community which is nice. As for the game itself, I do fondly remember it despite not being the pinnacle of game design. The roller skating mechanic was fun, the areas bright and colorful. The Delta arc was pretty interesting. Mega's are a cool concept. All in all I'm pretty satisfied with the games.

They made the games easy, and dull since it held your hand throughout the playthrough, then gave us the friend safari in the post game that if you made any progress towards, would punish you for resetting the game. No replayability.

Introduced a new type after what? 12 years?
Gen 6 is the mostly painfully unrealized gen though. Kalos had so much potential.

That's like saying the only popular Pokemon from Gen 4 is Lucario, Braixen, Sylveon, Aegislash, Talonfamesuppose it kinda fell off are all plenty popular and lot's of others have sizable fanbases too.

Same thing. Usually Pokemon characters arent THAT popular. With that being said Serena, Clemont, Sycamore, Lysandre or even AZ are quite memorable and popular

You're not wrong but thats pretty obvious since XY never got a sequel/upgrade. You can say the same about every first games in each gen and even about some upgrades (like USUM or Crystal)

All in all XY is the 4th best selling Pokemon game of all time. Its revival will come anyway

You can still find people playing this game today. Gen 6 online was a big deal, and 7th Gen was Trubbish after you finish the story.

People tend to forget that XY was some really massive shit, specially here. We had Safari Zones, GTS, WonderTrade, Customization and a lot more stuff going on different threads EVERYDAY

Like, really, say anything you want about XY, but it was an amazing gen because it felt like the franchise was alive again after people tried to riot pokémon for BW/B2W2

Yup. Just the jump to 3d was a HUGE thing. Also fairy being only new type since 1999, Megas, Pokemon amie, Super training etc. Obviously Kalos was brought down because they never did Z but you can see with all the Sword and Shield discussion how much people want Kalos back

I forget or mix up town names in every gen. what lets me remember what is in each town is, for examples:

maybe I'm unique. I only watched the original anime as an early teen and completely lost interest somewhere around where he won a fight 'cause haunter made funny faces (not talking detrimentally to the series, mind, just went on to watch other cartoons and never revisited), so the npcs and city names never meant much for me. I can remember their pokemon, but outside of brock and misty because of that early anime watch, basically nothing else. just what they contain.
