To be honest, Pokémon endings always hit me. The concept of the trainer back home after all it's so emotional.

This was good but it was far too long. We didn't really need parts for every character. The mistake SM made was focusing too much on the story and thinking everyone cared as much about the characters than they expected.

Also it's unskippable.

I still love BW1's. I think it's how quick it is and the simplicity while having an amazing tune.

as much of a meme as it's been, it's definitely one of the most emotional moments in Pokemon for sure

This too. Weirdly, it worked better in the game than the Generations episode. I think it's how he falls down and shakes, he doesn't do that in Generations and it doesn't have the same impact.

It's a perfect concoction to give the player nostalgia and a bittersweet feeling for the journey that they've just finished.
