It's the only decent design of the starters, though. Which matters way more than sll of that shit to me.
Gen7 is the only gen in which i refuse to pick certain starters. I even used shit like emboar and chensaught, but gen7 is just one big yikes.

Its the most fun to use in game and has the best design, which is what most casual players care about. I’m sure they will give him a buff next gen like they gave Blaziken Speed Boost in gen 5 after they realised its actually quite popular. Maybe make Long Reach actually do something significant.

I feel that's more because they want hau's dartrix to evolve in time for the league and they didn't want to have two dartrix/decidueye at once. Rowlet was always a gag mon anyways.

Also how is decidueye the big loser of gen 7 and not turtonator?

Anon, they had it ingest the stone, to keep selling Rowlet merch. They introduced Hau with a Dartrix to show off the rest off the line in a little more detail than they had already, but the decision to keep Rowlet so was entirely money-driven. Had it not been as popular, it wouldn't have done that.

decidueye looks like the kinda mon who fights in the mcdonalds parking lot with umbrellas against other larping vampire society gangs

we went from dinoclones that had plant dna infused into them from freak science experiments to this pile of shit who's not cute enough to be popplio and not edge enough to be incineroar, the grass line wasn't the most popular line, but it had some damn good designs. it's a real shame this is what we ended up with instead of some feral looking tree owl, but a cape wearing turd. let's all take a moment to laugh at his failures, and be thankful the superior starter made it into smash as an ambassador for the new nintendo handheld console generation pioneering a new era with his fancy fur texture and genuine superiority.
