Since it's a rpg, I usually imagine what is happening in my head, while I play, giving some context to stuff. It's not as cool as visually seeing my Sceptile destroying barriers and sweeping minions, but it's enough to give some feeling to it.

Adaptations never really bother with resistances, except to the same type, for obvious reasons

A lot of the more "gamey" stuff like separate Physical and Special Attack and Defense stats is removed in adaptations
