Please explain how the Gigalith line is a clone of the Golem line. Just because they're 3 stage rock-types? Then the Aggron line is a clone of Golem too. And that's not even the worst example. Rapidash exists so we aren't allowed to have another equid Pokemon ever? Tentacruel is more like a squid than a jellyfish yet it's the only jellyfish design that's allowed to exist?

Hoenn has by far the best early game of any entry in the series, yeah the late game is absolute garbage, but you look at that early game, the choices you get right off the bat and you can basically have a full team of perfectly workable Pokemon before the second gym. It also helps it's one of those generations where you can have a full team of the new gen Pokemon only without having to wait until the last gym to get 4+ of your members.

You never heard of the terms regional bird, regional rodent, regional bug, etc?

The Darmanitan and Primape comparisons are semi-stretches. While they’re both ape-like pokemon with spherical bodies, Darmanitan has that body shape for a good reason. The human-like face of the Daruma would translate better on a ape-based design. I don’t think they would design it as a Primape reskin in mind.

Liepard is more like Mightyena. Early game Dark type that evolves quickly but is pretty shit. Excadrill is a hybrid of Dugtrio and Sandslash and way cooler than the other two.

Darmanitan is a massive stretch and Zebstrika is a bit of a stretch too since it evolves way earlier and has a very different type unlike say Conkeldurr.
