I was thinking about this the other day. There's this constant stream of amazing imagery depicting incredible adventures and simple day-to-day life with Pokemon, drawn by passionate artists for the better part of two decades.
As a kid I've always thought that the games would eventually start to resemble this art as graphics improved. Maybe the games would look something like
>>38561582 or
>>38565514 but we're in 2019 and still not even close to that. Other AAA games are capable of jaw-dropping vistas and truly alive worlds so I don't get it.
Pokemon as a concept could make for one of the greatest adventure games EVER, but the modern single-player experience is such a letdown. We're still stuck going on tiny, linear routes with invisible walls as we're guided from point A to point B until the next cutscene plays.
I just wanna feel like I'm truly going on an adventure in a vibrant and dynamic world with my bros.
