Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a port of a game that people already owned years ago, it doesn't counts. Mario Kart games sales depend a lot of the console they are in. The Wii game selling 30M was an anomaly because the Wii sold so much, but is not common.

Bad outcome would be they decide Let's Go is the way of the future.

Granted they'd probably try a Let's Go Jhoto or something first to test the waters.

Point is unless we can get Game Freak to go back on the Nationl Dex, there's probably no saving Game Freak.

Just because of brand loyalists (and still lots of copies were sent back by customers out of utter disappointment and rage). In Japan it flopped hard, really hard, and that doesn't count the angry review bombings at amazon Japan, Yahoo Japan and others, with Famitsu, as the biggest Pokemon and Nintendo dicksucker that is that magazine, being the only one to give it a relatively good score. LGPE is deemed as a "densetsu no kusoge" there (before that, Stargazer was the only "legendary shitgame").

So Pokemon has 2 options... either die temporarily until Nintendo gets the total rights of the franchise and gives the core games' development to Level 5/Squarenix/Bandai Namco or continue living as a filthy kusoge under the incompetent hands of GF.

Zelda BOTW is the best selling Zelda tittle.
Smash Ultimate is the best selling Smash game.
Splatoon 2 outsold the previous Splatoon 1 very quickly.
Xenoblade 2 is the best selling Xeno game (even above the Xenosaga games for the PS2).

If pokemon Sword and Shield sells less than normal (10M) then theu seriously have screwed it.
