Ok let's say the trees actually do get updated and look pretty alright when the game comes out.
What about the emptiness of the wild area, the shitty move animations, the stagnant Pokemon idle animations, the trainers and Pokemon appearing out of thin air, Pokemon just roaming around the shitty open field not doing anything, the inconsistent art style, and most importantly; the culling.
Will all of that also being fixed in 5 months time?
The only thing we've seen done well so far are the effects for move animations (talking about the actual VFX here fellas, not the Pokemon moving around themselves), and maybe the city design as they seem a lot more open but there's not nearly enough footage to really tell.
I understand that Joe loves Pokemon, I understand that this is his life line, but there's only so much you can actually defend here. If he wants Pokemon to be the best it can be he should be pissed that Gen 8's quality is nowhere near where it should be for a game in 2019 coming from a multi-billionaire company. Shit's gotta change at GameFreak or we're gonna be stuck in a cyclical hell of mediocre games for the rest of Pokemon's lifespan, and the best way for shit to change is not to defend it like a rabid dog defending its territory.
