Fuck off with your fake news. A policy change such as this came from the board of directors and given that includes Tagiri and Sugimori, I'd say they were more likely to vote that way, than Masuda who remembered the backlash from Gen III more accurately than they, who weren't as invested in making Gen III.

Yeah, no. See his distaste when he talked about it being a policy change? He's not happy with the decision either, but wont fall out with Tagiri over it. In fact, he's likely been asked as the "face" of Game Freak to be the one to catch the heat they knew was coming - that's why his response to the issue seemed so much like a fuck you - his hands are tied and bitching about it won't change it but he's unwilling/unable to flat-out say it.
