This is the stupidest argument I've seen underagefags use. Alola has more identity than any region in gen 3-5.

>only region with trials and totem pokemon
>only region with its own regional forms
>only region with ultra wormholes
>only region with z-moves
>only region made up of multiple islands
>regional evil team is the only one that isn't a huge region altering threat
>has a very obvious distinct culture shown through the npcs using unique dialogue and animations and the story about old vs new traditions

And Galar is shaping up to be the same with how the whole region is themed around the Pokemon League being a huge sports event with sponsors and everything instead of just rehashing the "lol just random trainers can progress through 8 gyms and beat these 4 guys then the champion" story for the umpteenth time

That's not how it works. The originals will always be the most iconic and remembered because they're what defined the franchise in the first place.

There were Hoenn remakes but, they were remakes, I wouldn't count them as pandering because of course they had to be set in Hoenn. Then Gen 7 comes in and... And I don't complain mind you, I'm a nostalfag and will have Xharizard and Mewtwo in all of my teams, but I'd like them to go beyond Kanto for a change. Some game with Johto or Hoenn pandering.

Well.. yeah. That's how exposure works. If you have a character/product/whatever that you want the people to know so they end up liking it and consuming it, you have to expose it. Show it as much as you can, include it in things. It's not a difficult concept. Of course a character that's in the spotlight and constantly favored will be more popular than some background character, at least with the masses.

As a Zelda fan, I can tell you that I fucking hate when they reference OoT.
Like, I get it. It was successful, and it shaped a lot of childhoods.
Just, please, for the love of god, stop jerking it off already. It shot its load a long time ago.
I want to see the series step forward and do something new.
Plus, it was the least good of the 3D Zeldas. Not bad, just least good.

Every Zelda game has their own virtues and failings. Every one has its own reason to be someone's favorite.
Look at Skyward Sword. For all of that game's failings, being able to swing your sword around in real life really made you feel like a swordfighting god when you beat one of the bosses.
In Phantom Hourglass, despite THAT game's significant flaws, it was full of colorful, memorable characters that were a joy.
Point is, if you think preferring one Zelda game over another is equitable to shit taste, then I think the one with shit taste is you.

I loved this feature so god damn much. I know pretty much everyone hated it, but for me it was so entertaining and immersive, honestly hope that BoTW2 at least adds the option to use the joycons like that, that way no one is forced to but those who liked it can have their fun. I know it's never gonna happen and it's probably one of those features that's gonna be dropped forever, but still. SS in general was full of flaws and I admit there are parts I hate going through during replays, but it also had so many amazing segments, I just can't hate this game.

Wouldn't work because Kukui is ALREADY a new character you retard. The point of Alolan forms is that they're old Pokemon but with a new twist because you suddenly found them in a new region where they evolved differently.

If Kanto were just being referenced in the same amount every other gen does then there would be no problem, but when you dedicate entire gimmicks to Pokemon from Kanto only, or in its majority, then it becomes a problem. The difference is that, for the most part, those series are still putting out good games (except for Elder Scrolls) and aren't using the nostalgia as a crutch. If the Kanto references were part of great titles that moved the series forward in meaningful ways, I would most likely react with the same level of "Oh, neat" that I do when I see a Mario game reference SM64.

The other issue is that these references sometimes impact the gameplay. The Kanto starter you got in X/Y, for instance, was yet another example of the more recent games handing the player powerful tools without requiring any effort from them. And Charizard and Mewtwo getting two Mega Forms each may very well have prevented two other Pokemon from getting one. It's really not as simple as "Hey, this dungeons has a couple things in common with Cerulean Cave" or finding some in-game book referencing the events of RBGY, which are the sorts of references those other series tend to include. It is important to remember, though, that these issues are ultimately a much smaller part of a larger problem with the series. You could even say the Kanto pandering is just a symptom of the actual disease, which is GF's laziness.

Pokemon is almost entirely KANTOOOO, anything outside the mainseries is completely ignored, and other games get a nod at most. Nothing is ever expanded meaningfully.
