Since Nintendo re-released RBY and GSC on the eShop, why don’t they re-release other pre-3ds mainline games on the eShop too?

Well, I heard from some old source that the 3DS had major difficulty emulating the GBA games which were included in the ambassador program for early 3DS adopters. Supposedly Nintendo was displeased with the quality of emulation so they scrapped it.

The GBA games were not emulated, instead they are done natively on the hardware. Because of such they couldn't add features like savestates and so on that other virtual console games have.

There's MGBA and that works alright on the New 3ds.
