>>39482075I just think the gen 4 engine was dogshit and HGSS didn't really do anything to improve on GSC's problems. A lof the music got worse, way less aesthetic than Crystal, no way to evolve multiple Pokemon, didn't bring back the gen 2 TMs like FRLG did with the tutors. Most of the additions were just gimmicks like Pokethlon and the little Pocket Pikachu toy. Plus they just ported over Platinum's battle tower rather than revamp the Crystal one.
They weren't the worst games ever but I was definitely disappointed compared to FRLG and even ORAS.
