Pokemon games are just advertising, they are just a rough sketch for a far bigger, much greater business... Anime, merchandise, movies, licensing, toys, etc.
Pokemon is not a game series anymore, games in Pokemon became a smaller branch just like comics became a Insignificant branch to Marvel compared to their multi billion movies.
This why I laugh at retards who ""boycott"" SwSh and are playing Masters or Go. Phoneshit will overcome game profits and will make games even less priority. You can boycott the games all you want, you can get SwSh to sell half of it's copies, it won't even phase the Pokemon company, and won't affect the purpose of the game... To be a stepping stone for new characters, Pokemon, new settling... To be profited by merch, anime, apps, etc.
