Mach punch exists. He won't be bulky, so I doubt he'll be useful in game or competitively (other than as an HM slave) if he can't withstand one of the most common offensive types there is.

Nothing that gets Mach Punch is immune or resistant to Extreme Speed, it's not really a problem. The bigger issue for Obstagoon is setting up Belly Drum with a defensive typing that bad.

The crying when this Pokemon DOESN'T wind up with Bellyspeed, and therefore has to be put in the garbage bin, is going to be unreal. So far there is no indication that it will. Regional forms do not have the same movesets.

All type combinations need to be fulfilled at some point. And Normal/Dark (Dark/Normal in this case) is actually intuitive.

Normal is the go-to for anything that is based around a normal animal or sound.

Dark is for Pokemon that are aggressive, brutal, violent, and cruel. Sometimes Dark is also used for nocturnal Pokemon.

We have 5 Dark/Normal Pokemon: two nocturnal rats that steal food from people, and three aggressive badgers used by punks that disrupt and obstruct your progress.

Difference is that pokemon that have STAB Ice Shard aren't nearly as competitive as Garchomp. They're slower or frailer (usually both). As if we need a reminder that game freak hates ice, he and his even slower mega have been OU since they came out.

No, I think Obstagoon will have more than Linoone's 70 Attack and will be able to OHKO Lucario with +6 Extreme Speed. +10 Attack makes it a guaranteed kill on base form Lucario, +35 ensures the kill on Mega Lucario. I also think Mach Punch/Vacuum Wave are largely irrelevant to the conversation when no relevant user of those moves lives boosted Extreme Speed (let alone living comfortably) and when Obstagoon is probably slower anyways.

Mach Punch literary doesn't exist in OU. It's main problem is going to be pressure, so you can't just click on Belly Drum. But +6 Obstagoon is likely going to be lethal, so it's worth building your shit around that. You could probably justify adding a Memento user just to get the Belly Drum off

Rock/Dark, Rock/Fighting, Rock/Fairy, Steel/Dark, Steel/Fighting, Steel/Fairy. Keep in mind not all Pokémon with these type combinations might be bulky enough to withstand a +6 Obstagoon, possibly with a Guts boost, or might not even exist in Galar.

The way I see Obstagoon, It will end up a Guts-Orb mon spamming Facade, Knock Off and ES or Sucker if they decide to keep the lines unique, sure it ain't dangerous if you got the resist or is bulk as shit but anything else is taking a lot of damage.

I say it will be OU, but guts is mostly useful against Ghost types with Will-o-wisp.
Other than that, and potentially non-belly drum sets, its not that useful.

But as an added note, things like Tapu Lele will definitely be gone.

Well there's always toxic users and t-wave. Though i rather be burned than poisoned. I hope this things becomes something like Golisopod, stupid bulky and high attack.
