Mega Garchomp is fine, it has its uses as a mixed breaker and SR setter even if it's not a direct upgrade to one of the best mons in the game.

The big problem it faces is that regular Garchomp is one of the best Z-move users already, so there are fewer cases where people would rather give the Z to something else and make Garchomp a Mega instead relative to other Pokemon. It still happens enough to give Mega Garchomp some use though.
