On the contrary, Pokemon numbers have gotten better and better since GO.

The likely reason is that Nintendo is getting more hands on PRECISELY because they're getting more invested now that its so huge. The new CEO used to be a TPCI guy, so he surely is alot more interested in TPCI's doings, period.
