>>40219367>Also I don't really understand your other points. High HP and level are both important parts of crafting strong bossesOh don't take me wrong, I'm not saying those shouldn't be taken into account at all. I'm saying that some times that's the only thing they do. Like you said, HP and level should be PART of the design, not al of it. I can't start to name you the hundreds of times where a boss fight was long and hard to kill just because of the long HP bar. That's it. I wasn't having trouble staying alive or getting near the bosses, I just had to tediously damage all that life little by little.
Anyway, we'll have to agree to disagree. Like I told the other anon, the few battles I lost weren't because the totem did something smart I couldn't counter, I died because of the double damage. As soon as I gained two levels more, I beat them without blinking. Same team, same attack set, just a bit extra of hp. It did feel "lol 2 on 1" to me.
Lusamine though was hard, I do give you that, I forgot about her fight (since we were talking about Necrozma USUM was on top of my head). But that's one battle in an ok game, I can probably do that with most gens.
For the record, this isn't about gen VII hate. I actually don't think there is a Pokémon game that can be considered harder than the rest. I think most of them have one or two battles that screwed us over (Steven in Emerald, for example) but the overall diffilcuty is the same.
