>>40259036>slow battlesThis is only true in Colosseum. In Gale of Darkness, battles are resolved much faster due to faster/shorter animations and faster UI.
Example 1: in the send out anim in Colosseum, trainers will throw a Poké Ball twice, and it will show the two Pokémon coming out animations on their entirety. In GoD, trainers will throw their Poké Ball only once, the first Pokémon will play only half of the send out anim, while the second will play the animation on its entirety.
Example 2: In Colosseum, when you select a move, the UI will announce the move being used, and only after the text is gone is that the animation will begin. In GoD, the move being used is announced as the animation IS playing. Plus, the animations/particle effects were redone in GoD to take advantage of the Gamecube's EMBM to make some cool reflection/refraction effects, and they were shortened to take only half of the time to play than they used to in Colosseum.
The only thing which was not "fixed" in Gale of Darkness is the weather damage, as it will play the weather animations, to EVERY Pokémon affected by them, every time.
In general, battles in Gale of Darkness are more dynamic and resolved much faster for quick grinding, which was common for the JRPGs of the time.
