He hated writing Misty, the Pokemon League, and the whole concept of Pokemon battling, but Jessie and James? Shudo wanted them to be the stars of the show. He hated the secondary writers for abusing the "blast off formula" and the higher-ups for liking it and forcing him to stick with it. If Shudo had his way, Jessie and James would have been far more prominent, and Misty wouldn't be in the show at all.
