I dunno how adjusted your eyes are honestly but the textures and lighting on the 3DS game look awful, even when you have the higher resolution of the emulator. Both of those on the bottom look significantly nicer, it's hard to tell from here but there is a lot more detail, and there are even good-looking shadows. I'm not saying it's perfectly modern-tier, I'm just saying that compared to what we had it's way better.

99% of people complaining about Pokemon graphics are just idiots who saw comparisons with ps4 dragon quest screenshots and assumed the switch version of dragon quest would look the same for some reason. No switch games have good graphics, some have good art style or art direction but the actual graphics are always weak because the switch is mobile hardware. Pokemon is one of the better looking switch games. They're doing what they can with the hardware.

ITT people that can’t seem to realize that even though the top is up scaled that it’s exactly what GameFreak made when making the game, and the fact that it looks identical to Sword/Shield just goes to show how little effort they put out when provided with much more powerful hardware. Mario Odyssey looks ridiculously better and manages to do it at double the framerate.
For a 30 FPS comparison, see BotW, Astral Chain, Xenoblade Chronicles 2...
SWSH is on the lower side of average at best. It beats stuff like Three Houses but that's about it for first party games.

Cemu is emulating the WiiU version to be fair, and for some reason everything is in focus, while on the switch there is a more natural focus. Also what the fuck happened to that map.

I will say emulating overall looks better but my hacked switch cost me 100$ plus 25¢ for a pack of paperclips. Would cost over double for me to get a pc good enough to emulate(send help stuck with a 2008 compaq)

Compared to the PS4 version it is. It's incredibly blurry and jaggy, the rocks, trees, and other environmental objects have obviously lower poly count. The textures are also lower.
