I couldn't pinpoint what was bothering me so much about Galar Rapidash but now I see that it's the eyes and the mane. The eyes look completely off and the mane loses so much fluff compared to Ponyta. No wonder why I dislike it so much.

It's just not cute. Galar Ponyta is all kinds of cute and still matches the original Ponyta, Galarian Rapidash looks like an MLP reject and looks completely off compared to the original. Whoever designed Galarian Rapidash should have taken notes from the Alolan Vulpix line.

An improvement, but I think its muzzle is a bit too round and its mane needs way more fluff similar to Ponyta. Also, is it the angle or does its torso look too short?

I really liked galar ponyta when it was revealed. I think it's cute and the unicorn thing makes sense to fit british mythology. However, galar rapidish looks awful and I am disappointed with how it ends up. The fan art I'm seeing just makes me feel sad and I want to headcannon the official one away.

Though, as I type this out, I think there is a smoke effect on Torkoal iirc?
Some pokemon get more effort put into them then others.
