Why are people freaking out over no natdex? SM/USUM didn't have it either but you could still transfer from bank just fine, home will be the same.

No, in Alola every Pokemon is transferable. They just decided to only count Pokemon in the Alola Dex for your completion. This is more like what happened during Gen 3 where it was completely incompatible with the first two generations. Only difference is back then it was due to technical limitations, Game Freak is doing it now just to reduce their workload.

No, you're thinking of the national dex, that didn't cut Pokemon, that just removed an in-game dex for Pokemon not native to Alola.

SWSH literally deleted Pokemon by not having their data programmed into the games, so again, not in the Galar dex = not programmed into the games, meaning, no transferring

Game Freak has always been piss poor when it comes to compression and coding. If it weren't for Iwata stepping in then the entire Kanto postgame of GSC wouldn't exist due to storage limitations.

Wouldn't matter anyway as I would need to outright buy a new 3DS at this rate, and the only one's around here are the NEW 2DS models that AFAIK aren't hackable, and even then I'd rather not lose out on 3D as it was the best part of the dumb handheld.

...and then I would need to somehow relink my Nintendo account, and get Pokemon Bank back up and running...I don't think it's worth $200+ just for these mons including that I didn't have any other physical games for the system.

Its actually worse. Kanto wasnt even planned at that point. Kanto was only possible because Iwata fixed gamefreak incompetence of not even being able to fit Johto in it's own game. After that he not only made enough room for the Johto's map, he opened more space than expected which lead to the addition to Kanto.

Which future title, 3 years from now? 6? And what if that pokemon isn't available in any of those? Then in 10 years when Home servers are being shut down, any Pokemon left in there will be deleted if they aren't transferable to current gen games.

Plus you're forgetting that pokemon don't exist in a vacuum. A lot of pokemon are bad by themselves, but strong combined with others. Let's say a decent rain abuser like Kabutops is included in Gen 9, but no rain setters are in. The generation passes by and he's already had his time to shine, no support to actually make him good, but at least he was included for a generation. Now, back to rot in home with you.

Yea and gamefreak wanted to be able to transfer mons, but it was way too difficult for them to get the GBA and GBC to connect apparently. But they still put em all in, its why ruby and sapphire and FRLG can still trade and battle.
