I think XD outclasses Colosseum in every way but these games showed me that double battles should be the only way the games are played

Seriously? I prefer Colosseum in a few aspects, but I agree in regards to double battles and that those games should have laid the groundwork for newer mainline games.

Literally the most fun I've had in a Pokemon campaign cause these games at least had marginal difficulty
Animations are a bit to slow for my liking but I like Gen 4 so not really a problem

Colosseum was my first game and Leaf Green was my second. Was always pissed off at the fact I couldn't use venusaur or most of my team is this game. Is XD any good? I never got to play it and don't know whether I should play Colosseum for nostalgia of give XD a shot.

Colosseum has a better feel to it, with you being an outlaw and all, but GoD is nice with some QoL changes, mostly with Purification and various Shadow moves rather than only shadow rush.
Also Miror B has rematchable Shadow encounters so you have jams too

play both, colosseum is pretty short with a decent amount of story left in the post game

xd is better, but it drags at the very end and u spend a lot of time in the final area

both are top 5 pokemon games for me though

This. XD may have a little more to it and some QoL features but I liked Colosseum's feel a lot more. The edgy MC with dual Eeveelution bros and hot sidekick following him around was kino back then. I also still listen to the friendly battle and Mirror B's themes to this day. 2 of my favorite Pokemon tracks ever.

Ya'll my niggas in this thread. I've never stopped being sad after how left behind the Colosseum games were by GF. PBR for gen 4 was okay but just another basic Stadium game. Then nothing at all since then, and now the main games themselves hit the home console and.. they turn out to be shit. Feels bad man

XD is far superior. At least a third of Colosseum is spent waiting through the excruciatingly long battle cutscenes (fuck you multi hit moves like Fury Swipes.) XD makes battles go so much quicker, and it also makes Shadow Pokémon more interesting.

I decided to continue the XD playthrough I started before the dex cut for SS was announced. I wanted to make a living dex in gen 3 to send forward.
Enough blogposting; The best part about these games is that the HP bar starts draining as soon as the move connects, and it tells you the effectiveness and whether or not it was a crit as the HP bar drains.
