Look I love the design and animations and concept I just meant it feels like it's missing something like it was meant to evolve. Cramorant for example is another single stage but it's very obvious what Cramorant's schtick is. Falinks seems like a gimmick Mon where they base a meh moveset around it's design so it gets this random set of moves based around being a little army that just doesn't really do anything for it.

Name a single new Pokemon this gen that looks like it had no thought put in you Kantoboomer. Shit like Runerigus, Rolycoly line, Apples, Sizzlipede, Grimmsnarl, Sinistea line, Arrokuda line and Cramorant are all killer concepts and even ones with shit designs like Toxtricity still have strong concepts driving their design

Could have gone in reverse and make a single evolve into the army. Or add more to the army. Give everyone Shields and make a true Spartan flank. Give them little Spears maybe that are held off to the side and work to look like insect legs or boat oars or some shit but still serve to keep the flank concept. It seems like an easy mon to just slightly tweak for an Evo.
