It doesn't feel like they balanced the exp share very well if they expect you to consistently use only 6 pokemon.
However I'm rotating between ~20 pokemon constantly and it works well in that case. Thanks to the mobile PC box + xp share I'm using a lot of pokemon I wouldn't otherwise
