Both Mega-Mawile and Mega-Sableye should have been regular evolutions. They're just improved versions of the original shitmons.

I think the ones that don't yet have a full 3rd stage evo could easily have the mega be it's final stage. Your pic related works well, but also things like Electrik -> Manetric-> Mega Manetric.

The problem is for those that already have 3 stages. Sounds autistic, but I really like how pokemon generally have 3 stages. Adding a 4th permanent stage feels weird. Really don't want pokemon ending up with Digimon style family trees desu

I do have hope of maybe a potential buff to Pidgeot if they bring it back at least. Its always been a bit low stat wise considering what it competes with and they did change how its 100% used with the mega.

Blastoise got shell smash, a recovery move, and body press. Venosaur got earth power.

All 3 starters got weather ball for various uses.

Gengar got to keep shadow tag in a way.

That's why some of them, like the starters and legends, would be retired. Some of the 3 stage evos could become a split evolution from it's 1st or 2nd stage. I mean Garchomp really didn't need a Mega to begin with, desu.

None of these should ever happen. The new evolutions would have their stat totals nerfed into the ground, the abilities (like Mawile's) changed, and the older Pokemon would then become usable with Eviolite.

I honestly had convinced myself that they were going to just take the mega models and reuse the as Gigantamax forms, since it's the same fucking thing essentially. I was so shitty when they couldn't even give us that.
