2nd week numbers are out. SWSH only sold 382,540 physical copies in Japan in 7 days. This is a 72% drop compared to the 1,364,544 copies in the first 3 days. The average dropped even harder (88%) from 454,848 copies per day to 54,648 copies per day.
Japan is 33% of the worldwide market (2M out of 6M according to Nintendo) and digital copies are 33% of the Switch market for Pokémon (635k out of 2M according to Nintendo). This puts worldwide sales around 7,830,378 units including digital copies.
These figures are underperforming Sun and Moon that had sold 3.7 million in North America, 2,386,327 million in Japan, 240,000 copies in Australia and 2.1 million in Europe in a similar timeframe*, bringing the total to 8,400,000 without even including other markets.
