Because it's not about dressing up, it's about being seen as a woman (or otherwise) and referred to as such. Straying away from the societal expectations of the gender you originally were considered as. Also pretty sure very few trans people draw attention to their "not a vagina" except to raise awareness that trans people have different medical needs due to their transitions or to piss haters off, which is dumb but everyone in all fields do it.

Not all trans people get genital surgery, there's plenty of reasons (cost, risks, allergies to some medications) why they wouldn't. Calling yourself trans is a social cue, so people don't fuck up by accident and either misgender you or project classic male or female problems on you.

Again- why should it be medicalized with painful surgeries (that don't work) HRT (that has consequences we don't even know of yet) and lupron (which is not "side-effect free" like many trans activists will try to tell you), instead of, say, I dunno, guys being allowed to wear dresses and makeup but still be male, and girls playing with GI Joes without being told to mutilate their genitals?

Seems to me that transgenderism is pretty regressive (and pretty homophobic) and actually reinforces the very stereotypes that trans activists claim they're fighting, lol.

I never understood why, if gender is supposed to be a social construct, it's ever necessary to mutilate yourself. It's not like such operations make you the opposite gender anyways, you'll always feel like neither because of all the inherent discomfort.
