Questions about SS

Hello everyone. I have a few questions about SS. Please answer me if you can. They will determine if I give the game a go. I am asking here because I trust people who've actually played the game over some 'journalist' website.

1 - Can you skip cutscenes/tutorials?
2 - How long is an average 100% gameplay, not including completing the Pokédex?
4 - Which version is considered the better one?
5 - I've heard about the 'bricked' Switchs. Is this common or just overblown?
6 - Am I better off waiting for DP remakes and/or Gen 9?

yes and no,depends on the cutscene, most of them are impossible to skip, so i will say no

a little less than the average pokemon game

we don't know for sure as there never got a patch
i guess the problem was too low or it's was more of a coincidence
the game mostly crash so save often, and some people reported that the game whiped out their card SD

yes, it's litteraly pokemon with all their flaws and treating you like you got down syndrome all over again.
The only good point is the wild aera and it's mostly just a safari zone with LGPE spawning
if you want really get it,go buy used as the problem isn't you go play the game, is if gamefreak getting your money or not

you can skip cutscenes, but not large text heavy story events. only movie cutscenes.
the game cuts out a lot of bs dialogue and it feels a lot faster than SM and even XY imo. but you cant skip most thing. catching tutorial gets skipped automatically if you catch pokemon before you trigger it, or so ive heard.

if you rush through everything just to say you beat the game and complain about how short it is, 15 hours. if you play at a normal pace, probably about 30. it didnt feel shorter than i expected having played every pokemon game several times but for some reason people act like it is.
there's no real post game though.

i have sword but i unironically think shield seems like the main version. like shield is the first game and sword is the afterthought.

completely overblown. i heard it only happened to hackers but even if you assume no one hacked, the legitimate verifiable reports are so minimal that I wouldn't worry. the crashes are real since wild area + being connected online + weather + background processes makes the game run like shit, but thats avoidable and i havent had it happen yet. the lag in wild area sucks though.

it only depends on the importance of pokemon vs the impotance of having $60 for other things. no one can determine this one for you

this is misleading. the swsh time for 100% completion were based on ONE submission. no one is doing the dex in 24 hours unless you literally just have your friend trade you their living dex

but the completionist doesn't apply for OP who said he doesn't want to complete the pokedex

Hello everyone, OP here.
Thank you very much for the info guys. I'll be honest, based on what you've told me I'm unfortunately going to give this one a miss.
Here's why:
The idea of not being able to skip cutscenes is a personal turn off, got enough of that with SM. I want to play a game, not read it.
The info hovering around about consoles being bricked and SD cards being wiped isn't worth the risk for me. I'd rather wait until there's concrete info of the games being fixed/patched if I were to play them. I'm actually surprised this issue even exists in the first place.
The idea of paying 20 dollars more for something that may wipe my console is a turn off. If it were 40 and I was guaranteed my system would be safe I wouldn't mind, but 60 just seems too much to me considering the circumstances. Won't list all the circumstances but in short not being able to transfer over my bros is a turn off for me. But I wasn't going to mention it here because I had accepted that prior to asking these questions.

Also, it's not that I don't want to complete the dex, it's just I wanted to get an estimate of how much content there is timewise minus the obvious one, being the dex completion.

i dont think anyone who has the physical game has had any bricking or sd card problems but if youre not interested in the game anyway, then its probably better safe than sorry.
