If it actually has content that stuff like Emerald, Platinum and B2W2 added, I'll happily admit to being wrong and buy it.
But after gen 6, 7, and 8, I'm too pessimistic about it. The Isle of Armor that's has a theme of getting stronger might literally just be a few cutscenes, that new kung-fu legend, and then that EXP boost. the Crown Tundra that's supposed to be about exploration might just be a few cutscenes, the Galarian regis and birds, and that's it.

Unfortunately this IS Pokémon. We always did it with every third version.
You may say that there were people that waited for the actual complete version, but they had to be very few or the practice of "base version/complete version" would have never take a hold.
You may say that the "base version" were better at the time, but this is true only until BW. Since XY we had games with half-assed postgame (except maybe ORAS) not really better than SwSh.
So yeah, the DLC are really an improvement, at least as a concept. Now we have to see if they'll do them right (but I'm not holding my breath).

Expect another DLC pack after this one for another $30 as well as a patch to fill out the rest of the Pokedex. Think about it, why wouldn't they just do a third version and easily make $60 off of each sale when they can get their hooks into for $30 and entice you with another $30 later on to have the complete game?

No, we didn't. Every base game before now had postagme area(s) with/without optional legendaries, mythical pokemon, side areas, etc. SwSh is the ONLY one that has none of these. Hell, even the main selling point of the game, the wild area, doesn't even get additional areas in the end, you can exhaust all there is to see within the first few hours. But lo and behold, not even 2 months after release and we're getting postgame areas, optional legendaries in said postgame/side areas, etc. And considering how far along the gameplay footage was in the trailer, coupled with the fact that the first one's releasing in 6 months, they were working on this since last year, alongside the base game, if that's not a clear sign of cut content being sold back to us, I dunno what is.

Inherently, sure, DLC is far better than a rehashed 3rd version, but with how they're handling it, it's just as bad.

The latest Pokemon games have ranked wi-fi battles, battle tower, usually some post-game story chapter, battle rematches, and other misc shit on top of what most people already do, like breeding and shiny hunting.

I never beat a Pokemon game and feel like "oh, well there wasn't enough to do after beating the Elite 4 and all that, I guess I'm done." Usually playing through the main game is just a chore I have to complete to get to the shit I actually want to do like above.

We didn't even get a legendary trio to collect, something they've done since gen 1. Instead the post game areas are being sold to you. Imagine if you beat the game and were told "hey anon now we've opened up two new wild areas for you to explore!" That would be post game content, something you could dig into.

The issue is this: in past generations, you could reliably wait a year or two for a better, more complete, enhanced version, pay $40 for it, and get all the content from the first set of games plus much more. But now, you MUST buy the shit first version in order to access the new content, meaning for those that waited, the price tag is $90 instead of $60. And that’s bullshit.

The issue with that argument is that, as we know from sales numbers, a vast minority of people actualy bothered waiting for it. Most hardcore players did double dip. "For those that waited the price increased!" is the problem of whoever waited, and that's not bullshit, because you're not entitled to a game tailoring itself for your singular needs.

Those problems would've stayed in S/S not in the third game, which would've been another "base game". So people could enjoy a better game from the start, instead of playing and half-assed game until they reach the dlc and spent 90$ in total for this whole experience.

SwSh offers even less content than XY in almost every aspect (no triple/rotation battles, Mega Evolution, rideable Pokemon, Amie minigames, Super Training, GTS, programmed Pokemon even after the updates, postgame, wild encounter types) and it only adds big Pokemon and wild area with SM graphics, and they want $30 to barely add new things which were of coursed intended to be launched with the base game.
