This is actually incorrect. Genwunners ARE the majority. They're a silent majority, but they're a majority nonetheless. They buy Pokemon games because it reminds them of their childhood, not because they like Pokemon. If they don't see the Charmanders, the Pikachu's, the Eevee's, basically any Pokemon they remember seeing from whan they watched the anime as a kid. they'll get turned off by the game and not buy the next installments. They started the Gen 1 pandering at the start of Gen 6 because Gen 5 as a whole didn't do too hot in terms of sales and revenue, and that was mostly down to the lack of "recognizable" Pokemon (By recognizable I mean Gen 1).

Kanto also gets that regional variant love.Alola gave 10 kanto pokemon regional forms.
Galar gave Kanto once again more regional love. Galar Weezing, Galar Ponyta, Galar Meowth, Galar Rhyme. That's not even touching G-Max with Charizard, Machamp, Snorlax, and Lapras either and more Kanto getting that attention.
They literally don't give this much of a crap about Gen 2-7+

Here's a hint, you downie. Every single one of the polls before that one promised the same thing. People would still vote for their favorites, but those votes would get drowned out by the congregation of autists that wanted free legendaries. No pokemon had proven to be popular enough to overcome the autism. The fact that Greninja proved popular enough to finally overcome actual botters and faggots means that this victory had even more merit than usual. His popularity was 100% the deciding factor for his victory, which is why other common popular pokemon like Pikachu, Sylveon and Charizard made it to the Top 10. All of them deserve praise for making it so far regardless.
