It hasn't happened once.

We got 1.50 regions in gen 2. Johto was an incomplete region that you could clear with level 30's, Kanto was a butchered region that made up just a little more than Johto.

.75+.75 = 1.50

You're delusional if you think we would ever get 2 full sized regions in 1 game

No, discount England and Discount France would be separated by the Galarian Channel. You could just link them by ferry or rail (the Chunnel).

Nope.
Maybe if you compare it to newer regions, but you don't get to do that. Kanto is the only standard Johto has to live up to.

also, my point still stands. Even if you're right (and you're not), Kanto was incomplete which means we've never had a game with 2 complete regions. At most 1.75 (but it's really 1.5 because johto was incomplete)

What do the levels have to do wigh the completeness of a region? It still has 8 badges, caves, evil team hideouts optional areas... You're level 60+ at the end of Kalos yet it's one of the most empty regions and feels the least complete.

Johto has more (and better) places to explore though. Kanto's number of trainers is a bit inflated due to it having some routes that are just long stretches of nothing but them.
Your complaint about levels is immaterial because of what >>42643238 points out.

GSC was meant to be the finale of the games, thus it having both regions and being a direct sequel.
Pokemon will never have an end now, so they don't have any need to wrap up the story

The issues with SM's development are well noted too (cut content, Ohmori pulling a one-man overtime coding job to get Trials implmented as the rest of the staff were busy elsewhere). Given they were sticking to the ethos of the National 'Dex, it's only fair to assume this came at a cost of how the games got developed. Or were you underaged when they were the new games on the block

Well they confirmed Kalos is just next to Galar with this reference to the English Channel

We might see a third expansion pass if miracle happens but even then i wouldnt expect the ENTIRE Kalos region but maybe a part of Kalos we havent seen in XY.
