I despise Basculin since it has 2 forms for no reason. Being a bass? Fair enough. Being a fish? fair enough. But having 2 forms with only an aesthetic difference is where I draw the line.

And to reply to the Alcremie poster, cream and sweets makes sense for forms with no difference,

Isn't the point of it to imply that speciation and actual evolution take place in pokemon? As a sort of intermediary step to regional forms? Like first you have one species, and then it splits into two populations with minor differences which don't mix (since these forms hate each other), then eventually you get distinct regional forms with new elements and features evolving but still just subspecies, and finally they totally diverge like pikaclones

Shellos and Gastrodon's forms are only aesthetic but they're both cool as hell. In fact, every single pokemon has an alternate form where only their colors change, it's called being a shiny. You're getting worked up over nothing, OP. Loosen up and unbunch your panties.

I'm sad most games outside of Sinnoh only allow you to find one or another form in the wild, but I guess it makes sense, and also kinda allows us to place which regions are Western/Eastern.
