Because it isn't a "real" t-rex to begin with, just a skeleton animated because reasons. Plus if you depict an unknown creature from our world incorrectly, it dates the movie and turns it into just another form of Pokemon. At least you have the excuse of not being able to properly clone it because presumably the t-rex would have cells more similar to humans than Pokemon so it would also break apart and be unable to exist outside of tanks.

that's head canon. Gamefreak has confirmed on numerous occasions that pokemon are like just regular animals. Yeah some of them can shoot lightning, but not enough to harm an indian elephant, much less a T-rex

The original version of the 3rd movie. Remember how weird it was and how the plot went fucking nowhere; a swering zero questions about the Unown? Well, in the original script, Oak was suppose to find a t-rex fossil and have no clue what it is. Aftwr reviving it, it was going to run amok and the Unown would get involved. It would also come to light that Pokémon were from another dimension that the Unown still live in and that Pokémon had basically drove all animal life exinct (which was why Oak didn't know what dinosaurs were), save for humans.
