In part BECAUSE they were trained as sport animals which meant it was extremely important they follow their orders. "Pit Bulls" are half retarded inbred monsters stitched together by José and Jamal in their basement because they either want to look tough, or buy time when the cops show up. Both have the same origins, look nearly the identical, and have fallen under the Pit Bull moniker despite that not actually being a real dog breed.
Basically a well bred "Pit" is only outclassed by a golden retriever, and is sure as shit a lot nicer than anything under 10lbs. The problem is middle American white girls on soap boxes that assume anything you would call a Pit is some misunderstood angel, bringing home some frankensteined, hills-have-eyes mutant frog monster, and getting her throat torn out for it. Which ends up strengthening the murder dog reputation, causes more niggers and spics to breed more actual murder dogs expecting something that fits that rep, and unleashes them onto the world when they inevitably can't afford to keep it alive and some bleeding heart puts them in a shelter next to the actual good ones.
