What purpose does the manga serve? It's probably the most disconnected branch in the entire franchise. The games and anime are the center of the whole series, but the only time the manga was ever acknowledged was in fucking LGPE.

They all have different focuses.

The manga focuses more on the human characters. The Pokemon are little more than glorified weapons and plot devices.

The anime is focused more on the Pokemon themselves and Pokemon battles. The Pokemon are the real stars of the anime.

And the games are the games.

You seem to ignore that it also adds personality to the player characters as well as all those involved, tells us the games’ stories in different and interesting ways, has original stories that you don’t have elsewhere, actually realistically presents the danger that the protagonists face when going up against foes that aren’t afraid to kill them and has the fan service of having the past protagonists return and interact with the current. It’s a hell of a lot more entertaining than the anime that’s for sure

Even so, it's lazy. The final gym leader being that much of a pushover is just anti-climactic and lazy. For much as shit Origins Giovanni battle rightfully gets, at least it was an actual challenge for Red.

Oh surely, because getting freezed up and not bothering fighting the people you should to become the best (Red), still being secretive to others after "learning" you should try to be more open to talk with people (Ruby), being a cop who manipulates innocent women because of reasons no one's gonna bother explaining (Lack-Two), and saving over millions of bucks just so it goes all for nothing at the end (Sun); are all stories worth a damn.

Let's not even get started with idiotic sub-plots. Because when I saw pic-related, all I did was cringe.

I know this franchise isn't known for delivering award-winning stories, but if the best it can accomplish is shit, there's no point in praising it.
