I really like gens 1, 3, 5, and 7, but gens 2 and 4 are boring. Haven't played XY or SWSH so I can't what my opinions on those are

Gen 5 is the only gen thats good as a whole.
3 and 4 are only redeemed via Emerald, Platinum and HGSS, everything else is either lackluster or downright shit

Gen 5 is shit apart from Black and White 2 which is one of the best mainline games.

Only for that, in every single aspect besides it BW completely blows it off the water. It's more challenging, more engaging, more fun, better story, better OST, better characters, etc.

Gen 2 is literally the worst generation we’ve ever gotten and the biggest improvement that we got from then on is the introduction of a female protagonist which they waited until the third version in order to introduce so it wasn’t even a solidified concept at first
