>>43538904There are plenty of shitmons that I enjoy that I would change, but I'd have to choose Absol. I love Absol to pieces, it's such a well designed Pokémon, but has been left behind by power and speed creep, and now without its Mega Evolution, it's even weaker.
Stats:
>-5 HP (65 > 60)>-5 Attack (130 > 125)>-10 Sp. Atk (75 > 60)>+20 Speed (75 > 95) Moves:
Sacred Sword
Abilities:
Limber, and Defiant
Notable mentions:
Contrary, Huge Power/Pure Power, Infiltrator, Insomnia, Intimidate, and Unnerve.
Absol is very lithe and flexible, so Limber is a comfortable fit, along with preventing it from being slowed down from its potential sweep. Defiant prevents Intimidate users from being so oppressive, and allows for better potential without being so easily shut down.
As for stat changes:
>HP: As nice as a healthy HP stat is, it's fair to strip a fair amount away for a better cause.>Attack: In conjunction with Defiant, it won't be nearly as strong, even if it's a hard blow to its performance without the ability, or before it's threatened. Swords Dance is still a viable strategy due to this.>Speed: Base 95 speed is a comfortable speed, and a lot healthier than one-upping the latest speed tier. This may also encourage strategy with Tailwind, Sticky Webs, Baton Pass, or a Salac Berry to cover its threats that are a just too fast. For moves, I chose Sacred Sword as a good alternative to Superpower, and to help punch through defensive Pokémon better.
Lastly, two outside-the-rules changes I'd personally enjoy, would be 1.) Fairy type to be added onto it. It compliments its kinder side, since Absol is a misunderstood sweetheart. Bad on the outside (Dark), good on the inside (Fairy). But it also gives it STAB on Play Rough. And 2.) Its Mega Evolution seeing a return in the form of a cosmetic. No more than what a Pokéball Seal would be. This way, base form Absol can see usage because it won't be downplayed by its Mega Evolution being stronger and more viable.
