>>43973950I played Emerald Kaizo recently myself, and it was fucking crazy but fun as hell.
Every Gym has 6 Pokemon, many with Legendaries and bullshit strategies. Movesets are cut back to the bare minimum so things like boosting moves were 100% unavailable to the player (the AI still has them). It gives most Pokemon a very specific niche based on their typing and ability.
I ended up having to get creative, raise specific Pokemon to take on specific threats and use a lot of things you wouldn't normally. In some cases just cheese the hell out of it.
I must have had a rotation of about 30-40 different Pokemon I needed to use to get through things. I had a Tentacruel that existed solely to kill Ludicolos, an Aggron I only used for Norman, a bunch of Explosion users just to brute-force my way through things I couldn't kill 'properly'/
The game definitely had its flaws, like the absurd amount of grinding required, being in Gen 3 means none of the new stuff like Fairy type, EXP share, reusable TMs, phys/spec split are in. But it's certainly one hell of a challenge.
